The Nigerian Union Of Journalists, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Lagos Chapel on 26th September 2023 , had their cultural day to celebrate the Press Week. The event, which took place at the (NAN) multipurpose media center, National Theatre Annex Iganmu, Lagos, was themed ‘Drug Abuse and Nigerian Youths, Effects and the Way Forward’.


Gracing the event were traditional rulers, community leaders, media professionals and the National Troupe of Nigeria who thrilled the audience to several energetic performances.

The Chairman of the occasion was Amb. Felix Duke, the president of the Creative Industry Group (CIG) who kicked off the event with an opening prayer, and blessing of the kolanuts. The event showcased the rich Nigerian cultural heritage, from fashion, to music and delicacies.
During his speech the Chairman of the event Amb. Felix Duke, highlighted the collective role of every citizen in tackling the menace of drug abuse in the entertainment industry and the country at large. He went on to say that the Creative Industry Group is set to partner with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as the synergy has been born to foster a futuristic mutually beneficial relationship for all and sundry especially members of the Creative Industry Group.
Also contributing to the discuss was the legendary humour merchant, Koffi Tha Guru, who is also the Chairman of the comedy sector Creative Industry Group (CIG). He said that if we ignore the signs now we all might end up paying for it, regardless of our class or status in the community. Of course he did not forget to throw in an anecdote or two before stepping off the stage.
Other Creative Industry Group CIG executives and artists present at the event were the Chairman cosmetology Sector , the amiable Lady Capriz, Chairman ICT sector Mr. Lekan Adesanya, National welfare director Diva Remi Obehi, Charles Ukiri, National General Secretary, Arete Helen, Director welfare, fashion sector, Empress Candy director strategy, music sector, and Vice chairman Media sector, Jav Fredericks Imoni.
Performing at the event were Creative Industry Group Members (CIG) ARTISTS : Ashny, POG, Dappy G.
