Once again Obukome Ibru gathers friends and family , for the viewing of her plays. The first one was titled Flower the Musical” and had amazing reviews, from those who saw it. This one however is called Crossroads”.
The event which took place on Saturday the 23rd of September 2023 at about 4pm , at the Alliance Francais/Adenuga Center Osborne road Ikoyi Lagos, was indeed memorable to say the least, with hundreds of guests in attendance.
Obukome
Crossroads, which is a tale of trafficking and kidnapping, is a musical play by the duo of Obukome Ibru and Gbenga Yusuf. The story tells of two women , Ariyike a hustling single mother in Lagos who is grappling with all the challenges that comes with surviving the world of nightlife commerce . And Adunni, who hitherto lived an idyllic lifestyle in Ibadan until she’s faced with a traumatic abduction that threatens everything .
“Crossroads” is a poignant exploration of resilience, sisterhood, and the strength that emerges from the most challenging of circumstances.
Amongst the many dignitaries that showed up for the show are the Lagos State representative for ministry of Arts and culture, Creative Industry Group (CIG) president, Amb. Felix Duke and his amiable wife Lady Capriece , fashion icon Mudi Enajomo of Mudi Africa, soul diva Yinka Davis, and Gloria and Elvina Ibru. It was also widely covered by various media houses.
