Winger Chidiebere Nnachi, had his first taste of action in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) playing for defending champions, Enyimba in their 3-2 win over Akwa United on Sunday. He would go on to express his delight at making a debut for the famous People’s Elephant.

It was a dream realised for the 18 year old Nnachi, whose dazzling runs on the flanks was adjudged to have helped Enyimba secure their first win of the season

“It is one of my biggest achievement in life, as I finally made it to play for Enyimba. I was born and bread here in Aba, and have been coming to the stadium here to watch Enyimba play for years now, and immediately I got invited to the main team for trials, I told myself that I will do my best to be part of the team, and luckily I made it to the main team”, Nnachi voiced to www.npfl.com.ng at the same time he gasped for breath.

Nnachi, one of the Aba grown talents that made it to the city’s biggest club, has French World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe as his idol and maintained that joining Enyimba, from the streets of Aba, will go on to motivate other younger players in the city to have belief in themselves that they can enjoy a bright future.

“Aba is a blessed city filled with lots of great talents and we really do have very good footballers in the city. If you go to all the football pitches in Aba, you will discover that these footballers are very good but don’t have sponsors that can help take their careers further, and it’s always good to have some of the home grown players in the team and I believe that I am in Enyimba to contribute to the growth of the team”.

Nnachi has previously featured for some grassroot teams in Aba including: Fusion, Ega, Megamu, Unich amongst others, before joining Enyimba.
