Victor Osimhen is one of the best strikers in the world right now and guided Napoli to their first Serie A title since Diego Maradona’s time at the club. His future there has been thrown into doubt though, following a controversial social media post from the Italian champions. And unsurprisingly, Real Madrid have been touted as a potential destination.
Despite the speculation surrounding him, Osimhen has continued to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. He has scored 6 goals in 10 appearances this season so far.
Someone like Osimhen would be a superb addition for Real Madrid. Especially with Karim Benzema leaving at the end of last season. Joselu has done a spectacular job till now but he is only on loan from Espanyol and at 33 years of age, is not a long-term solution anyway.
If Osimhen was to leave Napoli, Real Madrid should definitely try to sign him. And it looks like they have been handed a boost in the race for his signature.
As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid are interested in Osimhen. Meanwhile, the Nigerian striker is ready to join Los Blancos when he leaves Napoli.
Osimhen is an elite striker who would get goals for Real Madrid if something unexpected does not happen. Of course, it would not be easy to sign him by any stretch of the imagination.
Firstly, Napoli have a reputation for being one of the toughest negotiators in world football. Secondly, it is believed that it would take a transfer fee around €150 million to sign Osimhen.
That would mean breaking Real Madrid’s transfer record. Now, it remains to be seen if the club end up making a move for Osimhen or not. He has been linked with Chelsea too, who are also looking for a striker.
