In the 1990s one regular young face at the popular Madam Blessing’s Studio on Awolowo Way Ikeja was Angel Zigzag now Emperor Zigzag.
He was what the likes of Black Moses, the guy that produced African China’s first album, used to describe as studio rat (apprentice).
And every evening, decked in his over sized buba and sokoto, he opens the show for other acts that will perform that night with his popular Goat Meat Pepper Soup song.
Today, all that is now history.
Emperor Zigzag with his girls
Zigzag has ‘upgraded or is it downgraded’ to Emperor from Angel.
Again, he is no longer opening shows or thrilling his audience with Goat Meat Pepper Soup song but with Kpaka, Kpoko kpa song. This is what he used to scatter the stage at Creative Industry Group (CIG) Industry Night reception held in honour of Chief Tony Okoroji , the Chairman of Copyright Songs of Nigeria (COSON) for the month of October.
Today Zigzag has upped his game musically and he is also an ICT guru.
This is a brief story of Zigzag, my fellow south, south brother.
