Abia State governor, Alex Otti, has set up a special committee to investigate the allegations of manipulation of PTS results and other protest issues recently raised by the students in Abia State-owned nursing schools.
In a statement by Dodoh Okafor, Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Communications, the Abia State government invited all students who were directly involved in the examinations and were convinced that standard procedures were deliberately sabotaged, to send their petitions to the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor for proper investigations and other necessary administrative actions.
The state government assured the members of the general public and all interested observers that there will be no sacred cows, adding that none of the allegations would be swept under the carpet.
The statement advised all the aggrieved students to send in their petitions before the close of work on Friday.
DAILY POST recalls that many Nursing students last week staged a two day protest around some streets in Umuahia, calling for the sack of the Director of Nursing Service in Abia State Ministry of health, Mrs Onyeukwu Nwakaego, and some other top officials in the Nursing establishments.
The angry students alleged that their results were manipulated and sold to the highest bidders.
They further alleged that the results of their PTS examinations were unduly delayed beyond a month, during which their actual scores were allegedly manipulated.
