Drug abuse: CIG in road walk as confab holds today at O’jez

The Creative Industry Group (CIG), on Thursday in Lagos State, kicked off the much talked CIG Conference against illicit drugs by the youths, with a road walk from Ikeja Under the Bridge Bus Stop to Alausa.

The movement, led by CIG President, Amb. Felix Duke, saw the group moving through major streets in Ikeja axis, with DJ providing music for the strength of the soul, as they distributed fliers to members of the public, particularly the youths, warning them against illicit drugs.

The President, Amb. Duke told the gathering that the purpose for the walk was to create awareness for the conference coming up on Tuesday, December 28, at the National Stadium, Surulere.

Duke said the movement was a huge success and the purpose was achieved as many participated in the road Walk out.

The Lagos State Ministry of Health supported the walk with Ambulance, men of the Rapid Respond Squad of the Lagos Police Command provided security,
Coca Cola also supported with water and minerals,
Mr. Wilson Ighodalo, an Ambassador of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), CIG members, CEO African Television, Lady Capris and other leaders in the group participated in the fun and large noise from CIG to the public against drugs.
