Oborevwori hails Okpe monarch on his born day

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated the Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers and Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhue I, Maj.-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), on his birth anniversary.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, the Governor described the monarch as “one of Nigeria’s foremost traditional rulers with decades of outstanding contribution to the peace and development of the Country”.

He stated that Orhue I had remained a leading light, revered monarch, role model and custodian of the culture and traditions of Okpe people, and had over the years contributed immensely to the growth and development of the kingdom and Delta State.

He described the respected monarch, whose reign has been of stellar value to the Okpe kingdom, Delta State and humanity, as a bridge-builder with unassailable integrity.

The Governor also commended the revered royal father for his unwavering support to his administration and for rallying his subjects and the entire traditional institution in that direction.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta, I warmly congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhue I, Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), CFR, on his birth anniversary.

“As a Government, we have enjoyed your invaluable support in many aspects and it is my belief that you will continue to make your domain a model of peace and unity.

“As Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, you have continued to show example as a peace advocate, an impeccable leader and a symbol of humility and excellence in leadership.

“The Government and people of Delta appreciate your good counsel at all times and all you and your colleagues are doing in your various kingdoms to make governance easier in the State, and for your contributions towards achieving the M.O.R.E Agenda vision of our administration,” Oborevwori said.

“I join my good people of Okpe Kingdom in celebrating a great monarch and wishing him good health, wisdom and strength as he continues to provide leadership for our traditional institution throughout the State.

“I commend His Majesty for keeping and managing the culture and tradition of the Okpe people by promoting harmony, socio-cultural cooperation, communal living and peaceful co-existence among the Urhobos and other ethnic groups in the State,” the Governor remarked.

He prayed God to bless the monarch with long life and wisdom to enable him to continue with his service to the kingdom, the State and humanity.
