Ika North East Local Government Area boosts commerce with 100 stores

The tempo of commercial activities in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State is expected to increase exponentially soon when 100 lock up stores presently been constructed by the local government are commissioned for use .

The stores form part of the major legacy projects which include an ultra-modern town hall and office complex being built by the local government under the watch of its Chairman, Barrister Victor Ebonka.
Addressing journalists after inspecting the project, Ebonka, who is the state Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, and its National Legal Adviser, said construction work(which is 80% completed) will be commissioned before Jan,2024.
He said that the project was intended to boost commerce in the local government area which was becoming increasingly urbanised.
He explained that the project, which would be commissioned soon, would promptly be put to use by way of allocation to traders.
According to him, the effective use of the stores would significantly add to the tempo of commerce in the area, thereby boosting the local economy.
He urged prospective allotees of the stores to put them to effective use and also keep them tidy to justify the investment in them.
It would be recalled that Barrister Ebonka, recently inspected the hall and office complex being built by the local government in Owa-Oyibu, headquarters of the local government area.
He explained that the complex was an appropriate response by his administration to the copious lack of as befitting offices for heads of department and a befitting venue for meetings for council personnel.
