….Osuoza, the man whose head the cap fits

The long search for a capable hand was worth it; I mean the painstaking search by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for the person who the spokesperson for his government will be. It was a long search and wait since July 20 2023 when other commissioners were appointed except for Information and justice commissioners. Now the cap for the information commissioner has been placed squarely on the head of academic doctor, Ifeanyi Micheal Osuoza who until the new appointment, was the spokesperson of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state since 2016 till date.

My friendship with him started in 2016 when we met at the house of Akatakpo Patrick Ukah who was the states’commissioner for information then. We were there for a meeting and after the jaw-jaw, he agreed to give me a ride to my house in Okpanam since the meeting ended very late in the night and since then our friendship struck. Then he was the chairman of Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS).

Osuoza is humble to a fault , no airs around and he is never tired of answering everybody ‘sir’ even those he is older and better than in all ramifications. That is osuoza for you!

He is lso known within his circle of friends as ‘Agenda’; his western education started in 1978 at Nawar UI Deen Primary School, Apapa – Lagos before attending St. Pius College Onicha -Ugbo for his secondary education and so on and obtained his doctorate from Ambrose Ali University.

Osuoza was also a one time commissioner in Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan’s government; so he is a round peg in a round hole and will definitely not be a learner in his new responsibility. He will hit the ground running once the state house of assembly stamps a seal on his nominations.

With the above attributes and the cooperation of the media in Asaba, Osuoza will excel like his predecessors like Mr. Chike Ogeah esq, Ukah and Charles Aniagwu to metion a few.
