Ogwashi-Uku poly gets registrar

Staff of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku have been called upon to continue to work as a team and shun divisive tendencies in order to move the institution forward.

The Rector of the institution, Professor Emmanuel Achuenu, gave the advice during the thanks giving ceremony to mark the appointment of Dr. Jude Okocha as the registrar of the polytechnic.

Professor Achuenu described the registrar as a humble fellow that had the interest of the institution at heart, adding that Dr Okocha performed his duties with the fear of God.

The Rector said the institution was out to produce graduates that would be employers of labour and not job seekers.

The chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, Comrade Michael Ogana, and other top management staff of the polytechnic described Dr. Okocha as a round peg in a round hole.

They said Dr. Okocha’s emergence as the institution’s registrar was a dream come true, adding that they had been agitating for a registrar to be appointed from among qualified individuals of the polytechnic community, thanking God for prayers answered.

They lauded the state government for the appointment, adding that it would encourage others to perform better in their   duties.

Chief Hycent Okolie, the Ighonor of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom, also at the occasion, thanked God for Dr Okocha’s appointment, adding that he was happy that his quarter, (Ogbe-Ubu) produced the registrar of the institution.

Meanwhile, the management of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwash-Uku, has appointed Mrs. Tracy Nwose to head the public Relations unit.

The Registrar, Dr. Jude Okocha, made the announcement in Ogwashi-uku while speaking with newsmen.

Mrs. Tracy Nwose attended Delta State University, Abraka. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in political science, and a Master’s degree in public administration. She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of management (NIM), and a deputy registrar at the institution.
