The story of MJ’s Best Bargain Supermarket can be likened to that of a mustard seed , which is the smallest seed according to the Bible in Matthew 13:31-21, that the owner of the seed planted almost two decades ago and it has grown into a big tree.
The mart started on Agbado Road in Ifako/Ijaye when Mojeed Jamiu was still a paid employee of so many Newspapers, this was via his wife, whom most of us know as Alhaja, the Amala Feast coordinator.
The shop started by selling baby toys and kitchen utensils from it Agbado Road outlet in Iju, Ifako/Ijaye Local Government Area. From there it moved to somewhere around Maternity Bus Stop on Yaya Abatan Road, Ogba, still in Ifako/Ijaye Local Government Area in 2010.
Today the supermarket that is in the class of ShopRite, Justrite and others, has landed in the heart of Surulere, Ogunlana Drive to be precise, just close to Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila’s constituency office.
The speedy growth of the business, Mr. Mojeed attributed to the blessing of Almighty Allah and the meticulousness and doggedness of his wife, Alhaja, whom he said he cannot stop appreciating for her business sense/acumen.
We visited the outlet yesterday just to feed our eyes, and what we saw, our mouth cannot say it all.
