…Gov charges them on national development
The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has charged the participants of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), of the Senior Executive Course 46, 2024, Group 7, led by Brigadier General L.A. Jimoh, with a charge to bring the wealth of experience in the course of study towards solving the national issues.
The Governor stated this while hosting them in his government office, Umuahia, he noted that his administration has established Monitoring & Evaluation Department, as well as and culture, so that projects and initiatives would be well managed with the greatest efficiency.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the governor expressed confident that State would continue to implement youth transformation and gender-friendly policies, amongst others through efficient budgeting processes.
Gov Otti assured the distinguished course participants that his administration would not rest on its oars to further introduce programmes and polices that would rejuvenate the State’s digital and youth economy, adding that the findings and recommendations of participants would also be implemented.
In his remarks, the group leader, Brig. General Jimoh, disclosed that the visit was to further appraise the state government’s efforts in specific areas such as Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation in Ministries, Department and Agencies, for optimal productivity.
He expressed satisfaction on the level of compliance by the Abia State Government towards introducing polices that encourage digitisation of the economy, education, and skills acquisition, among others.
One of the participants, Hon. Dimeji Belo, a Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun made a personal donation to the National Directorate of Employment to assist the agency in the course of its job.
Hon. Belo affirmed that youth empowerment is a sustainable route towards building a prosperous business environment, saying the gesture was to support the actualisation of the agenda President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Nnalobilor Ananaba disclosed that since inception of the Otti Administration, the State Government has introduced various skills acquisition programmes targeted at the youths, economic empowerment, and leadership development programmes.
Participants of this year’s Senior Executive Course are made up of high-ranking members of the Armed Forces, the Diplomatic Corp, Leaders in Civil Service, and the highest and brightest echelon of the organised private sector.
