Glasbury Festival: Tope Babafela’s take on Femi Kuti’

It was supposed to make headlines on our national news papers as Femi Anikulapo-Kuti and The Positive Force along side his gentle son, Omorimade Anikulapo-Kuti, performed on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Music Festival, the biggest music festival in the United kingdom last night with Cold Play, with the attendance of over 100,000 people..

I woke up this morning thinking it will make headlines, I went to Google to search but only found Cold Play on it.. the daily mail (English) the mirror (also English) all promoted their own .. but not one Africa or Nigeria media talked about Femi’s performance, it’s time to wake up.

If it was bloody Iyabo ‘freaking’ Ojo fighting on the Internet; the whole Internet space will talk about it or some dirty big brother show you will hear or read about it every where.

Femi Anikulapo-Kuti is our own he deserves better. Any time I watch him perform in London the audience are more of White folks. What is wrong with us storming his shows abroad?
