Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah has revealed that the Government is set to mount a robust enforcement mechanism in the state, to ensure that citizens abide by environmental laws.
He urged residents to cooperate with the Agency in realizing the vision of the Agency. He stressed that arbitrary dumping of waste on the highways and along the city roads would not be tolerated, as defaulters would face stiff penalties.
Chief Ukah added that the Agency would make sure it gets to all areas in the capital Territory, stressing that Okwe, Uduike, Bonsacc and every other area within the Capital Territory would feel the impact.
He therefore assured those living in Okwe, Oduke, Bonsacc and other areas close by that his team would soon get there.
Speaking further, the DG said that the ban on motorcycle, popularly known as Okada, as a means of transportation, had reduced the rate of crime and accidents in the state.
The DG called on all Asaba residents to give their full support to the government and comply with all directives from the Agency. He also enjoined residents to help to maintain a clean environment by keeping their environment clean.
