Bwala’s agenda against South East APC

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

The notorious Daniel Bwala has obviously got a new brief. This time, his unfortunate client(s) believe he can help them to disrupt the solid understanding and peace being enjoyed within the Southeast chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress and among the Southeast Governors’ Forum.

His mischievous advice to the President, His Excellency Bola Tinubu GCFR, to the effect that he shouldn’t accept nominations from Southeast governors for the headship of the newly established South East Development Commission(SEDC) might sound innocuous or ignorant to the uninitiated, but anyone who knows Bwala’s antics would have understood that he has either received a brief to plant discontent within the Party in the zone or is setting up a job to cash out from some desperate politicians whom he must have misled into believing that he has the President’s ears and could sway the President to cede the appointment to a particular person.

Contrary to Bwala’s disrespectful narrative about the Southeast APC and its leadership, the Party is very virile and viable under the leadership of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS.

Governor Uzodimma has been able to unite the Party and attracted Igbo land’s most respected politicians. With his brother, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, the Imo State governor has been able to make the APC the most popular political Party in the entire Southeast. In the last one year alone, many politicians from the PDP, APGA and the LP have flooded into the APC because of the confidence instilled in them about the commitment of President Bola Tinubu and the Party’s national Chairman, Governor Ganduje, to reposition the Southeast as the indispensable leg in the Nigerian tripod.

Among the quality Southeast leaders attracted to the APC in the last one year are; former Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former Secretary of the Government of the Federation, former governorship candidates of PDP, LP, and APGA, former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, former Senators and serving Senators elected on the platforms of different political Parties, members of the House of Representatives and other influential leaders from other political Parties. The Southeast undoubtedly boasts of some of the most powerful politicians in the APC than most other zones in the country and it is very insulting for anyone to dismiss these leaders as being of no importance.
Anyone who doesn’t know how Bwala operates could be misled into believing that he was paid by the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency Engr David Umahi to undermine the efforts of the Southeast APC governors, by stating that he was the only Southeast APC leader that has worked to strengthen the Party in the zone. I know that Engineer Umahi would consider the inclusion of his name in Bwala’s apparent denigration of his fellow leaders and the entire Southeast, derogatory, and I would be surprised if the Minister does not quickly dissociate himself from that post.

Obviously, the Southeast Development Commission is for the people of the Southeast and a no-account, rabble-rousing double-dealer from Borno does not have the slightest say in who heads the Commission. The President enjoys a good relationship with the governors of the Southeast, especially, those of the APC, and knows that they can be trusted to recommend a suitable candidate to head the SEDC, who will deliver on the governance and politics of the job.

It is important to remind those who might be deceived into patronising Bwala, that he is currently without a job, and given his reputation, would do anything to extort money from any gullible and desperate politician. Southeast politicians, must beware of him.
