Late Superior Evangelist Tomi Oke (1937-2024)
A choir administrator and foremost choir leader in the Celestial Church of Christ, Superior Evangelist Tomi Oke, has gone to be with the Lord. He was 87 years old.
Superior Evangelist Tomi Oke, popularly known as Baba L’Afao, was the Choirmaster of C.C.C. Army Barracks’ Road, Mokola, Ibadan, for over 22 years.
His strides of impact and valour gave birth to the rise of the 1st generation choir icons of the parish, like Musicologist Oluwole Adetiran, Apostle Remi Olabamiji, Maestro Bayo Adegboyega [Atáyéro], Actor Olagunju [Teacher], Artistes Victor Ashaolu and ‘Yinka Ashaolu [Adimula], amongst so many others.
We find it quite interesting that Pa Tomi Oke breathed crossed to the other side of the great divide on the 7th day of December, same day that Pa. Bola Ajibike went to be with the Lord.
Burial dates are Tuesday, 27th May – Friday, 30th May, 2025.
