If only people can divorce their bias and carefully unpeel layers of truth to get to the foundational truth of a matter. Abel Damina spoke the foundational truth in the apple eating matter agitating some persons. The Bible quoting Jesus directly in a passage clearly endorses what he said. What he didn’t explicitly say and what ought to have been obvious to any reasonable person is that the sin in the garden of Eden was the betrayal of trust on the part of Adam and Eve in entertaining doubt about the veracity of what God told them and not any overt act on their part.

In other words the act in itself was not a sin but the evidence and consequence of doubt and trust betrayal. God demands total reliance on His omnipotence and all sufficiency as man’s sole source for all things. So when men resort to alcohol and smoking for comfort , succour or courage rather than God they betray trust in God’s sufficiency and omnipotence and thus sin.
The sin is therefore not in the alcohol drinking or the cigarette or weed smoking but in the condition of the heart of the drinker and smoker. That said however, I can understand why some people take umbrage with Abel Damina’s mode of communicating biblical truths. Even at that, the preacher always asks people to listen to the full sermon rather than drawing conclusions based on edited snippets of his sermons
Personally, his style appears to me to be a bit arrogant. Then again, , his mission of redirecting doctrine towards the original intent is an onerous one and probably requires a man of his peculiar disposition to carry out. So , I suspend by dislike for his style and carefully weigh what he has to say against the word of God that I know. So far his position has resonated with me. As the bible says my spirit bears witness with his that so far he has spoken truth.
