Journalist refutes PDP’s false video on Edo tribunal

Dear All,

This is a confirmed falsehood from a confirmed liar who must be disregarded and consigned to the dustbin of his lies, hence.

How can you, Osaretin, who only follows your party chairman, Mr. Aziegbemi and ex-commissioner Ifaluyi-Isibor about everywhere in the tribunal like a bodyguard really know what happens daily?

Sometimes, even as the hearing is going on, you often rush out of the tribunal to hide among the flowers to do ‘live video’ full of lies. We know all these secrets because some of us with eagle eyes see what you do daily. And it’s none of our business. But we owe it a sacred responsibility to properly inform those you’re misleading into depression and death with false hope of an Asuerinme Ighodalo victory. On the basis of what I’ve seen and reported, so far, it will not happen. This is not about party politics but law.

First and foremost, there was no time, and there was nowhere Comrade Adams Oshiomhole or any other APC leader showed any angry disposition or “stormed out of court.” A court is conducted in utmost silence, order, obedience, and reverence. It’s not a place for political meetings and gerrymandering.

Senator Oshiomhole spent over one hour inside the tribunal, beaming smiles and interacting with his party leaders (as seen in my attached picture of him in the tribunal). At a time, he wanted to speak with another party leader. He came out, retired to an enclosed place inside the building, and returned to the tribunal a little later. Thereafter, he decided to leave even as the hearing continued. I followed him out. None of your PDP liars were there. At the lobby, Best Orator of the online BeeTV sought to interview him, to which he agreed while ITV’s Joseph Kadiri asked the Senator to speak on the proceedings.

Flanked by other party leaders while I joined other journalists to face him, Oshiomhole politely declined to speak on the technicality of the trial after saying that the proceeding was going well, I’m his view. Just as he explained that he wouldn’t speak on the matter that’s running in court, he was right to have said nothing on a controversial trial like an election petition.

While Oshiomhole’s presence and those of other APC leaders apparently intimidate the PDP leaders hiding in Edo State and other places daily, people are waiting for the self-acclaimed leader of the tattered Edo umbrella, the runaway former governor and looter, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, to come and inspire his godson, Asue Ighodalo’s ruining, mischievous and vexatious petition.

To fully understand and contextualise the fears and depression of PDP leaders and members, whose minions like Osaretin go to flower beds at the tribunal premises to lie daily even as they often sit at the extreme end of the tribunal in silence and melancholy, they first wrote that Oshiomhole came to intimidate the judges immediately after he left. Later, we saw more reports that Oshiomhole stormed out of the court angrily. Now, the ‘story’ is that presidency and Tinubu are silent on the tribunal progress. When did it become the work of the president or presidency to talk on a mere state election petition tribunal?

In the mind or hearts of Obaseki, Ighodalo, Ogie and other PDP leaders, can they, even in a drunken state, say PDP has done anything to nullify Senator Monday Okpebholo’s victory in any unit and ward, so far, talkless of Ighodalo being declared the winner?

To all our friends and foes everywhere, I want you to take this promise to bed tonight that all the petitioners, especially Asuerinme Ighodalo and the PDP, will be dismissed and fined at the end of this trial with the resounding election of Governor Monday Okpebholo of the APC validated and stamped. The poor and inconsistent testimonies of badly coached Ighodalo’s witnesses are already pointing to the end from this beginning.

If it’s not so in 70 days’ time as I said this night, then I’m not the truthful person you know me to be!

Sebastine EBHUOMHAN, Abuja.
