Dr. Olunloyo who governed Oyo state from 1st October 1983 to 31 December 1983 under the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, reportedly died in Ibadan. He was aged 89 years.
A statement authorised by his family and released on Sunday morning said the late mathematician, engineer and renowned technocrat, died a few days before his 90th birthday.
The statement also said that Olunloyo who is the Balogun of Oyo and Otun Bobasewa of Ife, had a “long record of service to the nation and humanity and is a source of pride to his family and associates”.
It also added that the Olunloyo family will appreciate the understanding of the press and the public as they commence efforts to give him a befitting burial.
