The UEFA Champions League returns with quarter-final first legs this week, as the battle for a spot in the last four begins.
On the first quarter-final matchday, Tuesday, Arsenal welcome Real Madrid to the Emirates in a mouth-watering clash. While the Gunners sit 11 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League and with seven games to go, they breezed through the Round of 16 with an emphatic 9–3 aggregate win over PSV.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, needed penalties to see off their Round of 16 opponents, Atletico Madrid, after an aggregate 2–2 draw.. Despite also losing 2–1 to Valencia in their last domestic match, Madrid are a different beast in Europe. They have won the Champions League a record 15 times, and they will be looking to remind the world why. The match kicks off at 8:00 PM on Channel 66 on GOtv.
Also on Tuesday, Bayern Munich meet Inter Milan in a clash of former winners. Bayern’s domestic inconsistencies will mean little here, as they look to Harry Kane to fire them past an Inter side topping Serie A with ruthless efficiency. Watch live at 8:00 PM on Channel 65 (SS EPL).
Then comes Wednesday, and with it, another huge night. Barcelona hosts Borussia Dortmund at the Olympic Stadium. Under Hansi Flick, Barça have arguably the most dangerous attack in Europe, with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres carving through defences all season. Their attacking brilliance will be key to unlocking a well-drilled Dortmund side. Tune in at 8:00 PM on Channel 66 (SS Action).
At the same time, PSG take on Aston Villa in Paris. While PSG no longer boast the superstar trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, their new-look youthful side plays with greater cohesion and determination. But Villa, riding high from their knockout success and domestic momentum, will believe they can take something from this first leg.
Catch it live on Channel 65 (SS EPL) at 8:00 PM.
