My stomach aches whenever I see humanity suffering from existential threat to dignity and integrity. When the suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, locked horns with his political godfather, super Nyesom Wike and I saw innocent cheerleaders queuing up behind Fubara, I chuckled because I knew that with time, the hen will come to roost. Wike is a gold medalist in the Nigeria-madden race of despicable politics and wealth acquisition while Fubara is just an amateurish crawler. Before he was crowned by Wike to succeed him after his eight years of as Rivers State governor, Fubara entered into perhaps an unwritten agreement with Wike on how to rule Rivers state but along the lines, Fubara attempted to shift the goal post. Aberrant suicidal ideation. Betrayal.
In a puerile attempt to toga himself a saint to deceive the Rivers State people, Fubara played the dignity and integrity card. Bingo. He attracted graveyard flies as followers who were either naive in the game or were genuinely curious. They sadly jumped into the shallow boat of lilly-livered interlopper and a coward, Sim Fubara to fight his perceived enemy, Wike, the man, the boss, the god who made Fubara. The cookies crumbled when with the support of the Jagaban Borgu of Nigeria dirty politics who wielded the big stick and pulled the rug under the feet of Fubara by suspending him. Fubara was thrown back to obscurity and the prospect of stealing state funds which he had just begun was becoming increasingly paling into oblivion. Pronto. Like the young antelope Fubara leapt from pillar to post begging Bola Tinubu to save him from going back to the cold region of poverty and with a promise to retaining his discipleship in the scheme of the Nigerian rot. Now for โPEACEโ to reign in Rivers State and for the dividends of democracy not to elope the people of Rivers State, Fubara kow tow with the most ignoble death trap conditions. Wike wins? Yes and no. Itโs a win-win for both gladiators. The stealing continues. An aluta. Wike and Fubara are two leprous fingers of the same hands.
Enter the Dragon: I hear slippery Kano State political heavyweight, Rabiu Kwankwanso is joining or defecting to the ruling APC government soonest. Hahahahaa! What about the principles he stood for? Who is next in line to be paid off by Tinubu to help him wreck Nigeria deeper come 2027? Bola Tinubu will stop at nothing to continue with his greed to further wreck the statecraft of Nigeria in 2027. He has intimidated and bought the judiciary; he has threatened and pocketed almost all the governors to jump train else he loose his attack dogs: the DDS and EFCC to unleash on them social cancer should they decline his overtures.
I am unrepentantly unfazed. Nigeria will overcome this petrifying gestational crisis. I see a rising sun with the genuine face of dignity and principles.
