The Ughelli South Political Colonels, a formidable pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has reaffirmed its total loyalty to the party and pledged to deliver massive victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

The group made the declaration on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, at the party’s state secretariat in Asaba.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman of the group, Olorogun John Evwenode, said the Ughelli South Political Colonels were in Asaba to identify with the state leadership and demonstrate their readiness to work for the unity and success of the APC.
“We are here to assure you of our unwavering loyalty and to reaffirm our commitment to delivering Ughelli South 100 percent for the APC come 2027,” Evwenode stated. “Our goal is to mobilize at the grassroots and strengthen the party’s structures for total victory.”
Responding, Elder Sobotie commended the group for its steadfastness, describing their visit as a sign of renewed strength and cohesion within the APC. He charged members across Delta State to close ranks, eschew divisions, and welcome new entrants with open arms as the countdown to 2027 begins.
“No man prevails by the number of enemies he has; men prevail by the number of friends they are able to make,” Sobotie said. “The APC’s success in 2027, both at the state and federal levels, will depend on how united and inclusive we are.”
He dismissed any notion of segregation between old and new members, stressing that all party faithful enjoy equal rights and privileges. “In the APC of today, there are no old or new members. Everyone is equal, and all rights remain valid and accessible,” he affirmed.
The APC chairman described the party as divinely favoured, saying that the opposition in Delta State had become weak and disorganized. According to him, any attempt to challenge the APC in 2027 “will be like running into a brick wall.”
“Government is like an elephant, too big for one man to slaughter and feed upon,” he said. “We have two governments at our disposal, one in Abuja under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and another here in Asaba under our able governor. That gives us every reason to stay united and work harder.”
Sobotie lauded the Ughelli South Political Colonels for their commitment to the APC’s success and their grassroots mobilization drive, expressing confidence that their efforts would strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
“I am impressed with your zeal and organization,” he said. “Keep up the good work, and may you rise from being Colonels to Generals in your political journey.”
The meeting ended on a note of optimism, with both the state leadership and the Ughelli South Political Colonels pledging to sustain cooperation, expand membership, and consolidate the APC’s growing influence across Delta State.
The visit, observers noted, marks one of the most strategic political alignments within the Delta APC in recent months, a signal that the Ughelli South Political Colonels are emerging as a key mobilization force ahead of the 2027 elections.
