I’m a lover of language, especially a well crafted and wisdom-filled Yoruba. That was my first attraction to Egbon Oyesina Fadare when our paths crossed at The Nation Newspapers in 2007
Therefore, when he was later appointed as Editor of Gbelegbo newspaper, a Yoruba tabloid in The Nation Newspaper stable, I was not surprised.
But beyond this, my most cherished attribute in Oga Fadare is his humility and humanity.
In The Nation family, the Gbelegbo scion is envied by all because of the leadership provided by the man we all call Akaraogun, which has turned his team to more of brothers and sisters, than mere colleagues in the newsroom.
If anyone is disturbed in the team, Fadare will not rest. Ironically, it’s his turn now; Oloriebi is sick and needs us all.
He has been diagnosed of Cervical Spondylosis that needs N5m corrective surgery with a two-week window.
I appeal to all Nigerians to look in the way of this gentleman and in particular Yoruba leaders and business owners who are ardent readers of Gbelegbo.
