Sosa Drink from Nigeria’s numero uno beverage company, Rite Foods, got its name, Sosa, from the place where its massive production plant is located in Ogun State, Ososa, near Ijebu-Ode.
Ososa, is also the home village of one of Nigeria’s most popular stage/movie actor, the late Hubert Ogunde who died decades ago.
This piece of information was disclosed by Ekuma Eze who represented the managing director of Rite Foods,
Selim Adegunwa., at the lunch organised for the Fourth Estate of the Realm as part of its end of the year 2025 party.
According to the MD the name also came as part of the company’s slogan of ‘global brand, proudly Nigeria’.
“It is not a foreign name, not a foreign product shipped to Nigeria and packaged for our huge market that is the biggest in Africa. It is a purely Nigerian product, produced in Nigeria here by Nigerians for Nigerians. It is a 💯 percent product that we are proud of its performance in the market place,” the MD said.
The shindig with journalists who had so much to eat, drink and take away was held in Ikeja, Lagos State.
