He was born Chielo Ayibu Ojirikabut popularly known in the entertainment world as Chiboy D’Black Courage.
In 1987, he emerged as old Anambra State National Disco Dancing Champion and represented the state at National Theater Lagos where he came fourth. He later formed a dance group called Spark 3 in 1988 that was performing as show opener/ side attraction for Bright Chimezie, Mpisipisi Band from Ghana, on national tour sponsored by Nigerian Brewery.
He recorded his first music demo in 1993, traveled to Germany and married a German, Claudia Keppler, and formed a music band, Chiboy and Golden Girls, in 1996.
His first single was released in 1999 titled What’s up Wazobia, which topped the Top10 internet chart December 2000- January 2001 Ref:www.internet-label.com and was made the official Nigerian Music Ambassador to Germany by Art Voice and KDC Tontrager Vertrieb GmbH, Munich, Germany.
Back home in Nigeria, he was hired by the federal government to produce an official Theme song titled: Le Pouvoir du Sports and perform in All African Games (COJA) in 2003 as well as CHOGOM Common Wealth Heads of Government Meeting in Abuja; he was also hired by FG to perform along side American DMX, Ashanti, Evander Holifield, Laila Ali etc in Battle of Hope.
He went on musical break to establish a humanitarian organization Salute Nigeria Initiative NGO with Sir Mike Okiro former Inspector General of Police of Nigeria whose objective is to promote peaceful co-existance and development, youth employment, crime prevention and international cultural exchange. Some of
Salute Nigeria Initiative advocacy programmes include Finger off the Trigger, Change the Mindset, Women our Treasure, Keep the Hope Alive, Electorial Violence is Stoppable in Nigeria (EVSN) to mention just a few.
Chiboy D’Black Courage is a Nigerian from Nkwessi Ancient Kingdom in Oguta LGA, Imo State.
His music promotes global peace ,love and respect for humanity.
Due to so many upheavals, wars of unimaginable dimensions Chiboy D’Black Courage was challenged to record his new single titled ‘No Smeh Smeh’ an Afrohip hop, Afrobeat dance music for African renewal and Rebirth.
