Your Excellency sir, it’s been a while since the last time I communicated with you on this platform. I am aware that you have been extremely busy lately. These past few weeks have been anything but challenging and hectic on account of the exigencies of your office. Occasioned, as it were by the wholesale defection of the PDP members to All Progressives Congress.
As could be expected, the event attracted headline news all over the country. It raised eyebrows in certain quarters as regards the rationality of the move but nonetheless, you have convincingly advanced reasons for your decision. I want to believe that the action was taken in the collective interest of the state?
While we were yet to get over the hullabaloo of the political tsunami and the debate about the merit of the move, the unexpected happened. And this obviously, jolted the political foundation of the state.
No one, not even in our wildest dreams, expected the demise of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the man you addressed as your dependable ally.
The unexpected death of your indefatigable co-pilot, Dr. Ewhrudjakpo came with unsettled consequences. I daresay, it has without doubt kept you on your toes. At the same time, it may have obstructed your programmes. Some mischief makers think, the events have conspired to place a clog on your itinerary.
Your Excellency sir, you don’t need to pay attention to these detractors.
Let them say whatever pleases them.
May I again, commisserate with you and the good people of Bayelsa State on this great loss. As my Islamic teacher would say, Allah giveth and He taketh.
We, as mortals are not given to question divinity.
Your Excellency sir, I must congratulate you on the successful burial of your deputy. It was quite noteworthy that you gave him a befitting state burial. The effort and the financies expended in organizing the event was worth it. To be continued…
