The Executive Chairman Of Ika South Local Government Area, Hon Jerry Ehiwarior, yesterday, 31st July, 2024, held a meeting with heads of security agencies in the area.
The meeting which had in attendance other stakeholders such as community and youth leaders within the Local Government Area, was to brainstorm on how to effectively tackle the mounting insecurity challenges in the area.
The Chairman expressed the need for all residents to be part of efforts to bring insecurity to its barest minimum, and for the people to see the protection of lives and property of residents of the area as a collective responsibility.
He harped on the need for all residents to be vigilant and proactive in ensuring public safety, and also called for collaboration among security agencies in the area in the fight against insecurity and other sundry social vices.
He promised to work closely, and to support the security agencies in the discharge of their responsibilities, even as he reminded them that security was pivotal to the development of any society.
In attendance were representatives from the Nigerian Police, Department of State Security Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Local Vigilantes, Community leaders, amongst other stakeholders.
