NFVCB kick starts strategic leadership retreat


The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has launched a two-day retreat and training program in Keffi, for Management,Zonal Directors and sub management staff focused on Strategic Leadership, Ethics, and Enforcement. Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Executive Director of the Board, urged participants to take the training seriously, emphasizing that anyone can be called upon to lead any unit or department. He stressed the importance of re-learning to achieve this goal.
Dr. Husseini envisioned a future where the NFVCB becomes a model for other regulatory agencies across the continent to emulate. To achieve this, he aims to develop a team of managers capable of running the office independently, without relying on a Chief Executive Officer.
The retreat’s first paper, presented by Professor Armstrong Idachaba, explored Organizational Culture: shaping and sustaining culture. Participants gained insights into overcoming organizational challenges and building a sustainable organization. Effective organizational culture Idachaba noted is crucial, as it influences employee behavior, job satisfaction, and overall performance.

The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Bar Hanatu Musawa was represented by her Special Assistant,Roshan Nanayakkara. He spoke on Monitoring, Evaluation and Heritage
The first day ended with the ED emphasising the need for the staff to see the training as a crucial step towards achieving the Board’s vision.
