DUG sees greater days for Delta

The Aniocha South branch of the Delta Unity Group (DUG) has said that the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the All Progressives Congress (APC) signals greater days ahead for Delta State.

Speaking at a meeting of the Aniocha South Council of DUG, Dr. Emmanuel Emecheta, it’s chairman, said the group has a passion for progress. He said the coming of the Delta State governor and the entire party establishment into APC portends greater things for the state.

“DUG is a group of like minds. The recent political development in Delta State is cheery. It means we now have a larger family. DUG is such that whoever aligns with its philosophy of development will get the backing of the group”, Emecheta said.

He urged the members which included the executive committee of all the 20 wards in the local government area to remain steadfast.

“We have passion for the progress of Delta and Nigeria. We are still there and very formidable. Our leaders want us to remain steadfast and focussed. The task ahead is for us to solidify the membership as we are joining the progressive movement”, he stated.

Emecheta said the principles of fairness and equity will be upheld as the PDP machinery is collapsed into APC.
