IPC honours Irabor, others

An ethnic group promoting development, peace and progress of Ika nation, Ika Peoples Congress (IPC), has rolled out special event to celebrate their distinguished sons and daughters.

According to the chairman of the Pan-Ika group, Mr. Williams Eghebi, the event will provide conducive environment not just to honour identified Ika sons and daughters but to talk about our future with relaxed nerves.

It will be hosting an elaborate Awards and Gala Night. It will be a platform to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to development, leadership, and humanitarian efforts.

Those penciled for awards include Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who will be honoured for his positive impact on infrastructure and political mentorship.

Others are Gen. Leo Irabor (rtd), National spotlight for Ika using the military ; Prof Stella Chiemeke,
educational impact on Ika; Chief John Ehikwe, Wise counsel as IPC BOT Chairman; Obi of Umunede, Preservation of rich cultural heritage; Barr Chiedu Ebie, developing Ika through government agency; Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim(MD and CEO of Premium Trust Bank), an emerging banking tiger; Dr. Hilary Ibegbulem , Philantropy and support for good causes; Barr Eugene Uzum, Pioneering IPC; Dr. Noye Kingsley Phillips, Community Development; Tony Onyeagwu, Posthumous award for efforts to unite Ika through sports; and Auntie Rose, who is a private school teacher that took in three orphans and provides them with education with a salary less than #50,000.

The event is fixed for Friday, 26th of December, 2025, at Palms Event Centre, Ogala Street Off Owa-Ekei Road Boji Boji Owa. 

The group formerly referred to as Ika Village Square, in time past, organized Ika Economic Summit and cultural festival as vehicles for economic leap and cultural integration amongst Ika people.
