Confusion is trailing the purported defection of former Deputy Senate President, Ovia Omo-Agege.Agege, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition party, African Democratic Alliance (ADC).
While some Deltans especially from Delta Central District, his Senatorial District, which he once represented at the senate including top chieftains of the APC, said that he has defected, others said that he has not.
” If he has, I will be the first to tell you one of his close associates told us on phone. It is not true. Don’t mind the nonsense some idiots are circulating on social media. How can he abandon the party he helped to build for strangers?”, the source asked.
And when we spoke to his media aide, Mr. Areh Sunday he also dismissed the story as rumour saying ” I am not aware of such development and if I am aware, I am the one that will circulate press release to that.”
Omo-Agege it will be recalled ran for governor on the platform of the APC in Delta State in 2023 and has been silent about the defection of members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the state into APC recently.
