Asade Announces Strategic Move to APC: A Technocrat’s Pivot from Protest to Power

Prince Asade Adedayo, a policy advocate for data-driven governance, has detailed his rationale for transitioning from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), framing it as a necessary shift from critique to implementation.

Adedayo asserts that systemic challenges—from digital infrastructure to AI governance—require solutions at a national scale. “Ideas remain theoretical without the platform for population-level impact,” he stated. “A central position enables the mobilization of sovereign resources, the setting of foundational standards, and coherent policy orchestration essential for progress.”

His move is driven by pragmatism. He acknowledges the LP’s role as an opposition voice but notes it lacks the executive machinery for complex reform. In contrast, the APC controls the federal government and the key levers of implementation. “Joining is a recognition that reforming a system requires operating within its center of gravity,” Adedayo explained, emphasizing his goal of actionable problem-solving over partisan ideology.

“The big stage is where impact happens,” he concluded. “This is a deliberate choice to infuse data-driven pragmatism into decision-making, trading external critique for the hard work of internal reform to deliver measurable progress for Nigerians.”
