The reported redeployment of the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, is great news and goes to show the readiness of the federal government to ensure a free and fair gubernatorial election this Saturday. I am also happy that the opposition in Imo is on the lead in celebrating this wonderful development. This can be interpreted to mean a clear vote of confidence on the election and should encourage everyone that this election cannot be rigged and the federal government does not have any preferred candidate.
I look forward to seeing those who will lose the election congratulate the winner immediately after his declaration by INEC.
Ideally, INEC will be deploying top officials from Abuja to superintend over the election and top police officers, probably led by a DIG would also be deployed for the purpose of the election. So, there is no cause for alarm. The candidate who has worked hard enough to secure the confidence of the people will win, and win with a landslide, and those who have been trusting in one political magic or another to propel them to a “lucky victory” will lose the election.
One of the good things about off season elections is that they enjoy a massive deployment of federal resources which makes them very difficult to be manipulated. Many of those who will be in charge of this election will come from Abuja and there will be no room for them to be compromised. So, those who are preparing an alibi for their impending disgrace at the polls should know that Imolites cannot be deceived anymore.
Governor Hope Uzodimma has worked hard enough to earn the victory he will get in this election, and I will count it a defeat if he does not win outright in at least 20 LGAs of the State, and will withdraw from political discourses, for at least, six months should any candidate other than him win this election.

MAY IMO WIN!
