M.O.R.E. diaries…Celebrating first anniversary of administration of Oborevwori in Delta State

IT was Benjamin Franklin, renowned American statesman and President of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States of America, who captured, succinctly, the whole essence of the virtue of preparation when he said:

“By failing to prepare, you’re preparing to fail.”

It is a trite point, therefore, that the greatest achievements ever recorded by historians of great figures in history, have never been complete without reference to the singular virtue of preparation as a key ingredient of any successful venture.

In warfare, family life, romantic relationships; indeed, in all human endeavours, those two words encapsulated in the Boys’ Scout motto constantly come to memory: BE PREPARED!

For Chinese sage, Sun Tzu, in his epic book, ‘The Art of War,’ “the battle is often won, long before it is fought,” giving further credence to the critical nature of preparation.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori came prepared for governance even before the final result of the 2023 general elections were declared. The MORE Agenda became the rallying point and the Special Purpose Vehicle that encapsulated the vision for a MORE prosperous Delta State.

M.O.R.E., an acronym that was designed to build on the solid foundation of the previous administration of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has left no-one in doubt as to its import: MORE Infrastructure, MORE Healthcare coverage, MORE reforms, MORE Inclusivity in governance and, indeed, MORE Peace and security.

The M.O.R.E. agenda in its simplistic form, means:

Meaningful Development:

“I am determined to ensure that we embark

On developmental initiatives and projects that

             have significance and purpose.”

Opportunities for All:

“I will run an open, transparent, and

                Responsive government where there is

                Shared prosperity, and everybody has

                A sense of belonging.”

Realistic Reforms:

“In consolidating the work already done

By my predecessor in moving Delta

                  Forward, my government shall implement

                  Realistic and impactful reforms.”

Enhanced Peace and Security:

“Peace and Security creates the right

Atmosphere for social and economic life.”

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

“With the implementation of M.O.R.E. programmes, I am confident that Delta Shall experience the following outcomes:

·        Job Creation

·        High GDP and IGR Generation

·        Capital Inflow

·        Export of raw and processed agricultural products

·        Improved economy of the state

·        Environmental rejuvenation

·        Improved Infrastructural Facilities

·        Social Stability and Security of Lives and Properties

As we approach the 0ne-year anniversary of this administration, we present to you the M.O.R.E. Series, showcasing the modest achievement of the Oborevwori Administration in the different sectors in the past twelve months…
